The New MT700B Series is the only tractor in its power class designed from the ground up to optimize tractor performance on tracks. Whilst operator comfort and control have been enhanced in the new ‘B’ Series tractors, the greatest advance is under the hood.

The New CAT® C9 ACERT™ engine leads the power class with 8.8 liters of displacement. Featuring the latest in diesel engine technology, this engine provides superior fuel efficiency, lower noise levels (average 73 dB(a)) and emissions that meet new EPA Tier III standards.

The Challenger MT700B Series tractors are designed around the innovative Intellitronics™ network . Much like the central nervous system in the human body, the Intellitronics™ network links tractor systems together for coordinated control and optimum performance . Electronic control modules located on components such as the engine, transmission, hydraulics and three point hitch, share performance data via the Intellitronics™ network.

This communication enables the Challenger MT700B series tractors to diagnose performance through the Tractor Management Centre (TMC), perform repetitive tasks with the One-Touch™ management system, interface with GPS-based systems such as the optional Auto-Guide™ satellite navigation system and communicate with implements in accordance with ISO11783.

In addition, the Intellitronics™ network commands the Power Management system, enables smooth shifting and enhances fuel economy. No other manufacturer gives you the power to drive your investment success so intelligently.

The transmission is designed and built by CATERPILLAR® especially for a rubber-belted tractor.

Powered by the new CAT C9 ACERT™ engine , the transmission carries full horsepower in all gears from the flywheel to the undercarriage. The new CAT 16x4 Power shift transmission is built in the tradition of industry-leading durability.

The Mobil-Trac™ System features a longer wheelbase and an in-line reaction arm that isolates tension from the driveline. Changing gauge is easy and can be done without detensioning the belt.

Three infinitely adjustable gauge configurations are available.

Bumps and ditches are no match for Opti-Ride™ Suspension . The new cushioned undercarriage, suspended hard bar and suspended mid wheels absorb shock loads for a silky-smooth ride in the field and on the road.

More undercarriage options allow this tractor to be carefully matched to the application. Now you can select your belt width, your tread bar type, and the width of the idlers, drivers and mid wheels to match the job.

The cab provides a comfortable operator environment, with noise levels reduced by 2.3 dB(a) to an average of 73 dB(a). The exclusive Surround-Flow™ ventilation system directs air through strategically placed vents and ducts for maximum airflow and consistent cab temperature.

The Tractor Management Centre (TMC) combines an innovative display with ergonomically designed controls. The TMC displays performance data in a simple format and allows you to optimize performance easily. Innovations such as the One-Touch™ management system, the optional Auto-Guide™ satellite navigation system and Power Management are conveniently controlled using the TMC.

The 3-point hitch provides an all-new way to match implement control with the tractor.

The hydraulics system offers the highest standard flow rate in the industry. Using up to six hydraulic valves, 166 liter/min can be pumped for the control and responsiveness you require. The exclusive Load Independent Flow Division guarantees flow when the implement needs it most.

Description of the different components of the MT800B series

The all-new Caterpillar® engines make these machines the most powerful and environmentally compliant “production” tractors currently available. CAT® Power’s new ACERTTM technology monitors four core engine systems:

• fuel,
• air,
• electronics and
• exhaust

• Thus providing improved engine response, fuel economy and performance and reduced emissions and noise levels.

The all-new cab provides a more comfortable operator environment, with noise levels reduced by 2.3 dB to an average of 73. Superior visibility and interior room for tractors in this class are standard thanks to the large glass area, and the exclusive Surround-Flow™ ventilation system directs air through strategically placed vents and ducts for maximum airflow and consistent cab temperatures. New options are available including right and left hand sunshades and rear intermittent wiper.

The industry-leading hydraulic system offers excellent flow rates of 223 liter/min (EU countries) and 166 liter/min (non-EU countries), as standard. Featuring up to six hydraulic valves, 3.8 – 115 liter/min can be delivered to each outlet and controlled via the TMC, for the complete control and responsiveness required of large implements.

The exclusive Load Independent Flow Division (LIFD) guarantees flow to all circuits even when the total hydraulic demand surpasses the pump output. A new high-flow implement valve option on the MT800B Special Application tractor increases the available hydraulic oil flow through one set of couplers from 30 g/min (114 liter/min) to 39 g/min (148 liter/min).

The proven power train transmission has been specifically designed for a rubber-belted tractor and carries full horsepower in all gears on the MT835B to MT865B models. The Machine System Protection Software (MSPS) is active on the MT875B, which activates a warning when working under high load conditions under 4 mph, followed by the de-rating of the engine horsepower if load conditions remain unchanged. The CAT 16F/4R Power shift transmission is built to the toughest specifications in the industry and is proven to be one of the most reliable on the market.

More undercarriage options allow you to tailor the Challenger MT800B tractor to fit your operation, with 4 belt widths and 3 treadbar designs to put more power to the ground.

The sophisticated tractor management centre (TMC) combines an innovative display with ergonomic controls. The TMC displays performance data in a simple format and allows you to optimize performance easily.

The following Innovations are all conveniently controlled using the TMC:

• the One-Touch™ management system,
• Power Management, and
• GPS Auto-Guide™,

• .A new feature allows you to monitor real time track tension, warning the operator when the track tension on each belt reaches potentially damaging levels, high or low.

The exclusive steerable 3-point hitch & controlled drawbar options provide an all-new way to match implement control with the tractor. Both of these options give the tractor better turning performance under load and allow the operator to manage how the implement trails the tractor. The 3-point linkage option is available on models from MT835B to MT865B.

The refined Mobil-Trac™ system features the longest wheelbase in the industry (3000 mm) and an in-line reaction arm that isolates tension from the driveline and tractor chassis. Changing gauge is fast and easy and can be done without detensioning the belt. The track gauge is adjustable from 2286 to 2601 mm (EU) or 3251 mm (non-EU countries).

The Opti-Ride™ suspension provides a smooth ride over the roughest terrain. Four semi-suspended midwheels move independently, so the track follows the contour of the ground. Marsh Mellow® springs and a stabiliser bar isolate the suspended hardbar from the chassis. Left and right undercarriages operate independently and the hardbar floats so the undercarriage smoothly “walks” over obstacles.
